Yoga Therapy:
Yoga Therapy uses a combination of yoga practices to support in the healing of particular conditions. It is much more specialized than yoga with all sessions tailored to a specific ailment or injury. Yoga Therapy assists the systems of the body to function as efficiently and effectively as possible, aiding prevention of illnesses, alleviating symptoms of existing conditions and promoting the body’s own natural healing process to restore health and wellbeing where disease is already present.
Types of yoga therapy sessions:
*Individual session *Small group session
Initial assessment: This consists of postural body reading, Ayurvedic (life science) constitution determination (doshic mix), and confidential discussion.
A highly personalized prescription will then be formulated based on a combination of Yogic and Ayurvedic techniques including:
- Physical postures (Asanas) – to strengthen tone and detox
- Breathing techniques (Pranayama) – to bring energy to the body and calm the mind
- Relaxation & Meditation techniques – to relieve stress and clarify thinking
- Lifestyle advice – including individualised dietary advice; detoxification methods; oils and herbs to re-balance and heal.
